Terms of Use

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the Prayer Proverbial mobile application (the "App") operated by Afrikan Apps Studio ("we", "us", or "our"). By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to these Terms.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the App, you confirm that you are at least 13 years of age and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

2. Description of Service

Prayer Proverbial provides daily African proverbs, scripture readings, AI-generated reflections, and journaling features to support your spiritual practice. The App is available with both free and premium features.

3. Subscriptions and Payments

Subscription Plans

• Weekly — $2.99 per week
• Monthly — $9.99 per month
• Annual — $29.99 per year

Free Trial

We may offer a free trial period for premium features. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, your subscription will automatically begin and you will be charged the applicable subscription fee.

Auto-Renewal

Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date. Your Apple ID account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.

Managing and Cancelling Subscriptions

You can manage or cancel your subscription through your Apple ID account settings in the App Store. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. We do not offer refunds for partial billing periods.

Price Changes

We reserve the right to change subscription prices. You will be notified of any price changes in advance and given the opportunity to cancel before the new price takes effect.

4. User-Generated Content

The App allows you to create journal reflections and personal notes ("User Content"). You retain full ownership of your User Content. By default, User Content is stored locally on your device. If you enable cloud sync (premium feature), your User Content is stored in Firebase Firestore and associated with your account.

We do not access, read, review, or use your User Content for any purpose other than providing the cloud sync service.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the App for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
• Interfere with or disrupt the App's functionality or servers
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the App or its systems
• Use the App to transmit harmful, offensive, or illegal content
• Reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from the App without permission

6. Intellectual Property

African Proverbs

African proverbs presented in the App are drawn from the public domain of traditional oral wisdom. We do not claim ownership of these proverbs.

AI-Generated Content

Reflections and devotional content generated by AI are provided for personal spiritual use. This content is generated dynamically and should not be considered authoritative theological guidance.

Scripture

Scripture passages are sourced from public domain translations via the bible-api.com service. We do not claim ownership of scripture text.

App Design and Code

The App's design, code, branding, and original content are the intellectual property of Afrikan Apps Studio and are protected by applicable copyright and trademark laws.

7. Disclaimers

The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We do not guarantee that:

• The App will be available at all times or free from errors
• AI-generated content will be accurate, complete, or appropriate
• The App will meet your specific requirements

The App is not a substitute for professional counselling, therapy, or pastoral care.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Afrikan Apps Studio shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the App, including loss of data, loss of profits, or any other intangible losses.

9. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time, with or without cause, and with or without notice. Upon termination, your right to use the App ceases immediately. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (including disclaimers, limitation of liability, and intellectual property) shall survive.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. If we make material changes, we will endeavour to notify you through the App or by other means.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of South Africa, without regard to conflict of law provisions.
